Alessandra Giampaolo Keener


Alessandra works as an educational consultant with private clients, ranging from individual families to attorneys and schools. She specializes in the educational needs of special student populations. She holds a BA in Psychology from Lehigh University and a Masters in Education from Johns Hopkins University. Beginning in November 2019, Alessandra was named the Acting Executive Director of the Baltimore Teacher Supply Swap and given the task of helping The Swap restructure and re-open. Alessandra grew up on the east side of Baltimore City but now lives in Northwest Baltimore County with her husbutch and their Little Free Library.

Janet Beach


Janet is the Manager of Information Technology for MB Equipment Finance. She has more than 25 years of experience in IT systems, technical support and project management in the Equipment Finance industry. Janet has lived in the Baltimore area for over 20 years with her husband and 3 children. She enjoys time with her family, running, and volunteering.

Liz Rome


Liz Rome is a Senior Manager in Grant Thornton’s Tax Reporting and Advisory Practice and sits in the firm’s office in Baltimore City. She is a CPA with 10 years of public accounting experience. Her technical and project planning expertise involves delivering tax compliance, income tax provisions under ASC 740, and consulting for complex businesses. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Towson University.

Liz has lived in the Baltimore area all of her life as she grew up in Towson and currently lives in Parkton with her husband and two beagle mixes. In her free time, she loves to spend time with her family and dogs and work on home renovations with her husband.

Carol Hamer

Carol completed her B.A. Integrated Arts at the University of Baltimore with a focus in graphic design and has 40 years of experience in administrative roles in and around the Baltimore/Washington metropolitan area and is currently the Executive Assistant to the President CEO of the Baltimore Community Foundation. Carol previously worked as administrative coordinator for The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, in the Department of Emergency Medicine on the main hospital campus. Prior to her time at Johns Hopkins, Carol was an administrative assistant for The Anne E. Casey Foundation, as a liaison between the foundation and its grantees.
In addition to volunteering at BTSS, Carol enjoys drawing, painting and caring for many houseplants and container gardens. She currently lives in the Cheswolde neighborhood of Baltimore City with her daughter Allison, a graphic artist and vintage clothing collector, and her very personable cat, a Maine Coon mix named Nyla.
Dawn Hupp

Dawn Hupp


Dawn is a Vice President for enVista Corp., a global software solutions and consulting services firm which enables enterprise commerce for the world’s leading manufacturers, distributors and omni-channel retailers.  Dawn has over 22 years of retail consulting and software expertise. Her background includes both functional and technical expertise across business transformation, IT strategy, process design, system selections, and implementations. Dawn has lived in the Baltimore area for over 15 years, and currently resides in Towson with her husband Mike and two school-aged children, Jenna and Connor.

John Anselmi


John works with local businesses and non-profits to improve their use of the internet to grow their organizations. He is also a founding board member of South Baltimore Network, a local non-profit organization committed to improving the life of the residents of South Baltimore. John is a life-long resident of Baltimore City. In his free time, he plays bass in a local reggae/rock band.

Steve Hiegel

Omni Land Settlement Corporation


Steve currently works for Omni Land Settlement Corporation as their Marketing Director.  He has been in the Real Estate business for 16 years.  He earned his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Towson University.

Steve has lived in Baltimore for most of his life as he grew up in Towson and currently lives in Cockeysville.  His wife Michelle is a Baltimore City school teacher and they have been married for 10 years.  In his free time he loves to play soccer and go to the movies.

Catherine Chamberlain

Baltimore Medical Systems


Dr. Chamberlain is a family medicine physician who splits her time working as a primary care doctor at Baltimore Medical Systems, as a medical director for an addiction medicine clinic, and a physician at Planned Parenthood. Originally from Texas, she moved to Baltimore after serving in the Peace Corps to get her prerequisites for medical school at Johns Hopkins. She not only fell in love with Baltimore but also fell in love in Baltimore meeting her now wife in Charm City.  After medical school at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island she returned to do her residency at the University of Maryland.

Dr. Chamberlain and her wife have a young daughter and currently reside in Hampden. She has a keen interest in our public schools as the students are also her patients. Outside of medicine, Dr. Chamberlain spends her free time running half marathons, spending time with her family and gardening.
